White glazed porcelain with blue decoration. In the centre depiction of a U-boat above a yellow-gold name inscription, surrounded by a laurel wreath with the Pour-le-Mérite order on top, the U-boat War Badges 1918 and 1939 on the sides, and a Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves at the bottom. The Meissen sword mark in underglaze blue and press numbers "N117"and "152" are on the back. Diameter 25.5 cm.
In November 1941, Lieutenant Schneider took command of the U-125 and sank 17 ships for a total of 82,873 tons gross register weight on five cruises in the Atlantic. On 6 May 1943, the U-125 was rammed by a British destroyer east of Newfoundland and began to sink. By order of the British escort commander, the crew was left to drown.
