An Original World War II SS Gestapo Secret State Police Warrant Disk. The disk has a horizontal design and a wartime national eagle emblem on the face. The reverse has GEHEIME STAATSPOLIZEI in high relief block letters. This disk has a stamped number 5287.

FIELD ISSUE CUTLERY SET. (Essbesteck)
BACKGROUND: The field cutlery set was a standard individual personal equipment item that was issued to all personnel along with other provision for eating in the field that included the mess kit, canteen, breadbag, fat container and a small portable, dry fuel tablet stove. The field cutlery set was generally carried in the breadbag along with other assorted personal items. The field cutlery sets came in a variety of models including a folding fork and spoon combination, a three piece set with a spoon, fork and knife and a more elaborate set containing a spoon, fork, knife and bottle/can opener. Following the old adage that, an army runs on its stomach, the field cutlery set must be considered one of the most important of all personal equipment items.
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Issue, tooled, stainless steel and natural aluminum construction field cutlery set consists of a steel butter knife with an aluminum handle, a four tine aluminum fork and a steel tablespoon, which all slide into a small opened rectangular steel and aluminum retaining sleeve with a combination can/bottle opener. The combination can/bottle opener and the spoon are both well marked with stamped manufacturers initials and dates with, "C & CW 43", to the combination and, "GAG 42" to the spoon. The spoon also has a stamped Eagle under "M" indicating Kriegsmarine issue. The blade of the knife also has impressed script, "Gusstahl Solingen", (Cast Steel). The set is in overall good condition with some light surface spotting and minor pitting to the combination and the knife. Scarce Kriegsmarine marked cutlery set.
